Technology Insight 2: Capture testing for solid recovered fuels combustion
IFK’s oxy-fuel fluidised bed research facilities at the University of Stuttgart
Our second Technology Insight introduces experimental facilities offered by the University of Stuttgart's Institute of Combustion and Power Plant Technology (IFK) for testing oxyfuel combustion technologies.
The IFK has more than 50 years’ expertise in energy research and wide experience in the thermal utilisation of gaseous, liquid and solid fuels, such as coals, biomass and solid recovered fuels.
Joseba Moreno and Max Schmid of the University of Stuttgart describe each of the key facilities in detail and explain how these will be used as part of the NEWEST CCUS project's research on carbon capture, utilisation and storage technologies for the waste-to-energy sector.
